The Power and Beauty of Life

The 25th El Haddawi Winter School takes place from February, 15th, 6 p.m. to February 20th 2026, 1 p.m. at the island convent "Abtei Frauenwoerth" on the Fraueninsel in Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria.
We live in difficult and adverse times. World peace seems far away, poverty and hunger are present everywhere, corruption and selfishness have become common in the world. Nevertheless, life by itself is beautiful and has not lost its power. It continues irresistibly on its path. We are part of life, and nature continues to be a source of our power. It is the positive human qualities that make life worth living for us. Thus, solidarity, compassion and beauty in diversity are the foundations of this world and of human coexistence.
In our Winter School we will turn to the positive sides of this world. Methods and principles of artistic dance and martial arts can show the abundance of movement possibilities of mankind. Sufi Dances and Recitation of the Names of the Divine provide access to the contrasts and tensions of life. Meditation helps to create the sphere of silence that has all the room for our being – as different as we may be.

Pre-Winter School-Workshop

Fee: 50 Euro, free for participants of the Winter School

All: 530 EUR
1st part: 350 EUR
2nd part: 350 EUR
Early booking fee is applied until December 31th, 2025 and its 480 EUR for all and 300 EUR for half of the seminar.
Accommodation and meals are not included.
Full board (breakfast, lunch soup and dinner with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food) will cost about 49 EUR per day including a variety of teas.

The per day rates for the rooms are between 40 EUR and 70 EUR depending on the category of the rooms. We cannot guarantee the chosen room category.
And there is an additional service fee for kitchen/infrastructure of 5 EUR per day (=25 EUR for the whole Winter School.) All this has to be paid to the seminar administration of the nunnery after arriving on the island.
